Espresso Candied Walnuts

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup coconut sugar or turbinado sugar
  • 2 tbsp finely ground espresso
  • 1 tbsp organic cacao powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1 egg white from a large egg
  • 4 cups walnut halves

Directions

Spread out parchment paper on a baking sheet.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Whisk the dry ingredients in a small bowl. Whip the egg whites in a large bowl until frothy.

Put the walnuts in the large bowl and stir them around until evenly coated.

Shake the dry ingredients over the wet walnuts, and mix around until evenly coated.

Spread the coated walnuts on the prepared sheet in an even layer. Bake for 5 minutes, then stir the walnuts and bake 5 for minutes.

Allow the walnuts to cool on the sheet.

Store in airtight Mason jars at room temperature. Will last about 2 weeks.
